We began as an appliance service company and have expanded into a one-stop company providing appliance repair and maintenance services, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, heating, vent cleaning, and commercial refrigeration. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN HVAC SERVICE MANAGER

As an HVAC Service Manager, you ensure the success and profitability of the residential HVAC field department, as you plan, direct, and control its functions. You build the bridge between our company's and our clients' interests. The trust that you develop with our clients keeps them coming back to us for all of their heating and cooling needs. Using your project management skills, you investigate and quote complex service projects. With diplomacy, you resolve any customer issues that may arise. Riding along on service calls to maintain quality standards, you lead by example and inspire all field personnel to take pride in their work. Always approachable, you answer questions cheerfully and with the goal of helping everyone succeed. When called on for support by dispatch, you are helpful and responsive. You also schedule training and education for your department.

Within company policies, you establish departmental objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards. As a goal-oriented problem-solver, you are always looking for ways to proactively improve customer satisfaction. You also find ways to improve efficiency and make pricing adjustments as determined by profitability and cost analysis. To help maintain departmental performance, you institute standard reporting and accountability practices. You help develop a marketing strategy to promote the growth of the service department. While you do spend a lot of time out in the field, you are also organized and keep on top of all your administrative duties such as technician spiff reporting and signing off on service invoice batch file inspections. You get great satisfaction out of ensuring quality, profitability, and client satisfaction!

 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN HVAC SERVICE MANAGER

  • Past experience as a residential HVAC Service Technician
  • A valid refrigeration certification
  • Current NATE, OSHA, CPR, EPA certifications
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Able to pass a background check and drug test
